The Old Yellow House
by Margaret Perry Ehrlich

The old yellow house was located in old Riverdale and built in 1920; and it's a house that will always be remembered. I was only twelve when my family and I moved into the old house. It was two stories tall with two living rooms, a kitchen, breakfast nook, and a pantry downstairs. Located upstairs was the master bedroom on one side of the hall with four connecting bedrooms on the other.

My mother, five brothers, our friend Terry, and I lived in the house together. It didn't take us long to realize there was something or someone living with us that didn't belong. Strange things started to happen almost right away.

One evening, after everyone in the house had gone to bed, Terry came home from a late date. As she walked towards her room she noticed the attic door in the ceiling was open. No ladder or chair was visible to explain how or why. The next morning she awoke before anyone and found the attic door had been closed. Much to her (and our) surprise, no one knew how the attic door was opened or closed. This was only the beginning of the attic door opening and closing on its own. There were times when my mother would find it open and ask one of the boys to close it, only to find it open again later.

Night after night for several months I laid awake feeling as if someone was watching me. The room next door was occupied by Terry, a very healthy person who mysteriously became plagued with various illnesses. We decided to switch rooms and within a few nights Terry's illnesses began to fade and she started to have restful nights. Upon switching rooms I, too, began sleeping full nights.

A few weeks later, feeling ill, I was unable to attend school. I was in the living room watching TV when all of a sudden the dog jumped up and started to bark at the stairs that led to the second floor. Being the only one home and scared I decided to investigate the action of my dog. Halfway up the stairs was a landing with a full length mirror on the wall. Much to my surprise, I noticed the mirror reflecting the image of a woman in an old-fashioned gown. Petrified, I took the dog and sat on the front porch until my brothers came home. Relieved to have my brothers home, I told them what happened and one of my brothers told me what he was experiencing in his room.

Being an old house with minor renovations, our ceilings were replaced with drop ceiling tiles. At night my brother would lie in bed and watch the ceiling tiles move. He told me how the tiles would rise up and slide over and minutes later would move back over and slide back in place. He would watch this until he fell asleep. The ceiling panels in my brother's room weren't the only ones to move as this happened throughout the house.

The dining room was home to one of our eerie house guests. My family was taught to push our chairs in at the table after each meal. Several times when my mother came downstairs the chairs would be pushed away from the table as if someone had been sitting in them. We could never explain how this happened and began to get used to our new "friends". After all, they had never done anything to harm us.

Our "friends" also inhabited one of the living rooms used for entertaining guests. No matter how hot it was in the summer there was always a chill in the air. My mother would try to light a fire in the fireplace but would fail with every attempt. To this day we have no explanation why.

One evening my mother was in her room and heard something in the hall. When she went out to investigate she saw a man and a woman all dressed up going down the stairs. Years later when we talked about this house we decided it could have been the same woman that I had seen in the mirror.

Another mysterious event that happened in the house concerns my mother's bedroom door. Every night before turning in my mother would lock her bedroom door. Several times the door would unlock and open on its own. She tried everything she could think to keep the door locked and closed but to no avail. Another problem door located in my older brother's room was a balcony door that would also open by itself with no explanation.

No surprise here but I feel compelled to mention that the cellar was used to store coal back in the day. Being cold, damp and dirty it was like every other creepy cellar in the world. If you own an old house you know what I mean.

These are events that took place in our home for the years that we lived there. We didn't stay long but it wasn't because of the haunting. The ghosts were friendly and they didn't mean us any harm. I think living in this house is what started my curiosity into the paranormal. Today I am the founder of
Inspired Ghost Tracking and we perform professional paranormal investigations.

I have been urged by a dear sweet lady to go ahead and post my personal experiences in the paranormal.

I have been experiencing things ever since I can remember and i can actually remember back to the age of 2 years old!! Yes i know that is totally unheard of but this is true. Alot of what I am about to tell may seem to good to be true but these are all experiences i have had. I do so wish that i had some tangable proof of each of my experiences!

Let's start with the beginning as it is always the best place to start:

Age 2 1/2 years old: This is the earliest recollection I have of any experiences. i might not have all the facts since I was just a little shaver back then. As i remember it, we where at a funeral for one of my great great Uncles. the family was gathered and his body was in a room in his house for the wake. the funeral was going to proceed from there (my mom told me about that part). As i recall, i was in another room with a few of the other kids my age so that we wheren't in the way so to speak. At this point, one by one, we all looked up at the ceiling. we saw a man smiling at us. He looked fimilar but i didn't know who he was. He started to talk to us and we where all reaching for him and giggleing. i came to find out later, from my mom, that the man we saw was the same one in the casket. She was one of the adults that was able to see what we kids saw. She said that he was making us laugh since he was the one that always took care of the babies at family gatherings. He didn't have kids of his own so he loved taking care of the kids and he proclaimed that as his 'job'. i have seen him 4 times since and always at family functions.

6 years old: Yet again at another Funeral. I think I saw more at family funerals then I truely should care too! lol Any how, This was for a great aunt in Pampa Texas. We had made the long drive from Chicago to there since this Aunt was a very well Loved woman. It must be a thing among the older members of my family that the wake was alwas in their home.

Any how, i was to sleep in her sewing room for the stay. At night i would hear her sewing machine going and so would the rest of the house. I was always getting in trouble for 'playing with the machine'. The third night, my mom and dad stayed in the room with me to keep me from playing with things at 3 am. humm? the witching hour? Dad was the first to wake up to the machine. He saw that I was still in between him and mom. he looked at me and I remember saying, "see? I am not touching it!" He woke Mom up and we all looked over to the machine. There sat my great aunt! she was sewing on an un finish project!! she stopped sewing, turned, looked at mom and- I will always remember this!- said to mom, " Nancy, please give this dress to Katie in the morning. I made it for her Wedding in December." then she went back to sewing. she sowed till about 6am, proclaimed she was finished and shimmered out of sight. Mom dad and I watched her the whole time. Aunt Helen even held a conversation with my Mom the entire time, like Aunt helen was still alive! The next instance of her shimmering out, Mom took the Dress off the sewing table and took it out to my cousin Katie. Mom reiterated what had just happened for the past 3 hours. my Aunt kelly knew about the dress and it was not even close to finish when Aunt Helen passed! Katie never told anyone about the Wedding date since there wasn't any until a day before the wake! Katie didn't say anything because of Aunt Helen passing! We all marked that down to Aunt Helen's final deeds to the family and now she could rest in peace as we never saw her again after that!

about age 9 years old: This was about when we lost my Dad's Mom, Grandma Vicki. Grandma was ill for a time and we all knew she was loosing the battle of life. The night finally came where all the adults where called to say goodbye. My brothers and i where taken to Mom's parents house. It was there that i saw Grandma Vicki looking very healthy and happy. She came to say goodbye to me and the boys. Grandma Vicki said it was her time to 'go home' and she wanted to say fairwell to the kids. There was a clock right there over her shoulder and i don't know why but i remembered the time we saw her. 11:43pm. Hours later mom and Dad came and got us. Mom was crying so there was a sign granma was truely gone. Mom was tring to tell us about the passing when my brother said, "Mommy, Grandma was here to say goodbye" Mom and Dad looked at each other in suprise. Then mom looked at me and asked the time we saw her. i told her and she got this scared look on her face! i told her everything Grandma said to us and she really got scared because that was exactaly what Grandma mumbled before flatlining. it was then Mom realized that i was something special.

age 13 years old: This was my first summer out to my uncle's house in California. I was to start my 'training' to be a gray necormancer-- that's another story to tell. While out there, my uncle decided to see just how well I can see 'ghosts' so we went to a very old grave yard. We where in the grave yard for may be an hour before I started watching folks in period clothes walking around.
( Now This is where things start getting fantastic and it will also show why I hardly talk about my experiences)

The clothes where from all different eras, the 20's 40's and so forth, even a few colonial outfits where in the mix. I was scared to peices and I so wanted to run like the wind but my uncle held me tight to him and wantd me to tell him what I was seeing. I started to tell him and it seemed like when ever I discribed a person to him, that 'person' would move toward us!! This scared me even more! I wanted no part of what was going on, but my dear uncle held me fast and made me go through it. he told me that I had a very rare chance to help the lost souls since they where caught here and needed to go on.

We stayed there for about another hour and a half. He was able to get me to calm down enough to the point to where I could 'hear' what the 'ghosts' where telling me. It must be part of my makeup but as i heard their pleas, concern over rode my fear. i thank my uncle every day that can help the souls pass over to the next realm.

age 14: this was the second summer of 3 at my uncle's in california. by now i have become totally comfortable with being inendated with ghosts. from the summer before to this summer, I had seen alot of ghosts in my neighborhood just walking around. i tried sharing with my Mom but she sank deeper in to her drinking and kept denying my gifts saying it was the work of the devil and things like that.

I was in a friend's house in California when i noticed something out of the corner of my eye. I saw a shadow dart across the ceiling and what seemed like it went out the window. i was looking for anything that would cause the shadow but i couldn't figure it out. When i saw it again, my friend piped up with, "She doesn't want to play! go away!" the next thing i know the shadow- in my full view this time- stopped short of the window, as if to wait, my friend said, "you heard me! now go!" and to that the shadow darted out the window! i asked him what that was and he said he didn't really know but it will do that until someone 'plays hide and seek" with it. He said that there is alot of activity in his house that he basically now ignores since it's so constant and it seemed like part of regular home life.

Also that summer I was able to see an accedent happen 4 hours before it actually happened. in this 'vision, I watched a black figure reach in to a car and yank the soul of the guy out! I was with my dad and we where in that same place 4 hours later. I told dad about what i saw earlier. we where talking about this when i saw the car! I started to scream! the dark figure did indeed appear and was about to yank the soul when several others started to scream! the dark figure vanished before our eyes! we told the police what we all saw. None of us knew each other before this. What was weird is that we where all asked what happened seperately. little did we know, one of the people that saw this happen was a Judge in our town!! There are about 20 different witness statements for this in my home town police station! this was so far the only 'proof' so far of things i saw.

i come from the Chicagoland area so I have had my share of 'hauntings'. One of the most famous Chicago Hauntings is Resurrection Mary. This story can be looked up for the full story. I actually have 2 tales of this girl to share with you.

The first will be of what i experienced with my Dad. it was October and we where heading for Riley's Trick shop to get stuff for a haunted house Mom and Dad got roped in to working. Our travels took us past Resurrection Cemetary. In chicago, this story is very well known. The story is that a young lady named Mary was going to a party and she was run over by a carraige and mary was buried in the Cemetary. Tale has it that on the 2 weeks before Halloween, Mary walks down the street looking for a ride to the party. folks will stop pick her up and as they reach the gates of the cemetary, Mary will disapear. It is always raining around that time of night during those 2 weeks. It was raining the night Dad and i went to the trick shop. Dad had a very soft heart and not thinking of the tale, he stopped to pick up this adorable girl that was drenched from the rain. She got in the car, I'm in the back seat where I noramlly sit. I start smelling this dirt smell. then it starts to smell like bad meat. Dad not wanting to be rude, asked her name ("Mary") asked where she was heading ("up the road to the big house on the right for a party") we get to about the gates of the cemetary, dad looks at her and I have been watching the entire time, and mary's face gets grotesc and she vanished! the car smells now more of rotting flesh then it did before! we rode back to the house with all the windows open in the rain! Dad and i got all the cleaning stuff we could find and we bleached and scrubbed and scrubbed, but we couldn't get the smell out! Mom thought we where nuts and she couldn't smell anything but a super clean car. Dad couldn't stand it anymore so he put the car up for sale. a couple bought the car almost immediately. They did not smell anything but a super clean car and the passenger seat wouldn't dry so they got a different seat.

age 15 the second time i had the experience with Resurrection Cemetary was when a Great uncle had a job there as the maintence man. I went to help him during the summer. He kept having to change a set of bars on the front gates every other day (and this is documented) due to the fact that the one set of bars seemed to have been heated up, and someone grabbed the bars really hard- from the inside!

Well That's just a part of the experiences i have had. it took me a bit to type all of this so i will add somemore at another time. thanks Angel for your gentle push in telling about my experiences.

talk to you soon!!Love and Light!

September 1976, I was leaving soon for my assignment to Germany for the US Army. I was home on leave. Came in late one night and everyone was asleep so I went to bed. I was laying there wondering what Germany was gonna be like. My bedroom door began to open and close and did it 3 times. It finally shut for the last time and I was outta that bed. When I tried to open the door , it would not open. It had NO lock on it. I yelled and Dad finally had to get me out. To this day I have not a clue what happened. I know for sure it was Not wind or anybody that did it. I could have seem them with the hall light on.

This evening my husband and I entered the Movie Theatre. There was only one ticket counter open. The way the ticket counter is, there are two box stations that hold two ticket takers each. We were waited on by a young girl in her early 20s, there was an empty chair to her right and it was about five feet from her.

I handed her my money and my coupon and she was in the process of handing my change back to me when i noticed a flash - a wave over the empty chair moving horizontal towards her. It was like a heat wave that rises above an asphalt street on a hot day but it was very small, subtle and quick. I remember thinking there was something wrong with my eyes? I blinked, then turned back to her. She took a tiny step with her right foot and she froze. I asked her "What is wrong?”

She said "I thought I just saw something."

I smiled at her and told her "You did. I believe in ghosts." She gave a little nervous giggle and said "Hehe yeah." My husband was standing and facing me. He did not see anything but he did hear the conversation.

As far as my paranormal experiences are concerned, I must admit that I have had quite few, and as far back as 1993. The one that sticks with me the most is Piney Creek Presbyterian Church/Cemetery just outside of Taneytown, Maryland. This was a project that was undertaken during February 2002. It was a rather cold winter but there would be times while working in the cemetery where I would be working on a particular stone and an extremely warm sensation would come over me. I would describe it as a 'hot flash', but when I would move form three area, I would get cold and when I'd return, I'd feel warm again. On cloudy days, I'd see things that I would describe as shadows as if some one was looking over my shoulder. From the corner of my eyes I'd get glimpses as if someone was standing there or I'd see people walking across the cemetery as if visiting a grave and think nothing of it but when I would turn away and then look back to see if they were still there, they'd be gone. Often times, I would smell something sweet, like perfume or a bouquet of flowers, but this is in the middle of February so no flowers existed. I thought for awhile there that I may be spending too much time alone in cemeteries and perhaps it was having this effect on me. A friend, with whom I confided in, assured me that I was not and shared some of his own experiences. I am convinced that when we die, we do not immediately go to heaven but enter another state where we are 'waiting' for judgment so to speak. Depending on how we depart, will decide how we spend out time in this state.

I have always been interested in the paranormal, but when I moved into a townhouse that had paranormal activity, I decided that living with strange happenings wasnt much fun.  One of the first things I began noticing was movement out of the corner of my eyes.  I would be in the kitchen, and I'd see movement in the dining room, but there was nothing there.  About 2 months after moving in, my 2 year old son started telling me that there were people in his room.  I'd ask him where and he'd point towards the closets, saying "Right there!  They're right there!."  I didn’t see anything.  He then proceeded to tell me that they were in his closet.  I thought he was a little young to be talking about "monsters in the closet", and I assumed that maybe he was hearing the tenants next door.  He also became afraid of shadows at this time, and told me that the shadows were monsters.  I thought it was just a 2 year old active imagination.  About a month later, I was home alone in my bed.  It was a little after midnight, and all of the sudden the headboard of my mine started violently shaking and slamming against the wall.  I was so scared I couldn’t even get out of bed to leave the room.  My heart was pounding, and I thought to myself that maybe I thought I was awake, but was actually asleep, and dreamed this.  I was trying to figure out a logical explanation to what had just occurred.  Things were quiet after that for about 2 or 3 months, and then the activity escalated.  Electronics began turning on and off, toys would go off that had no batteries in them.  And it wasn’t just any toys; it was the toys that made animal sounds.  I would be sitting at my computer late at night, and it would turn on all by itself.  One night I went to put my son to bed, and there was a shadow of a tall male in front of his closet door.  I thought maybe it was my shadow at first, but it was way too tall.  This shadow was at least 7ft.  I put my son to bed, and around 4:30 am he wakes up crying.  I go in to his room and change his diaper.  The first things I look at are his closet doors, and they are closed.  I change his diaper and put him in his bed, and when I turn to leave, the one side of his closets are wide open.  It freaked me out.  One night my son and I were watching tv in my bedroom, when I see a black shadow with wings fly out of my son's room and down the stairs.  I thought I was seeing things.  I decide to call a paranormal investigation team to find out what was going on.  They came in and got multiple orbs on camera and video.  EMF meters showed activity in by bedroom around my bed that was unexplainable.  Some of the investigators reported ghost sickness.  One investigator said it felt like she was pushed when she was walking down the stairs. They did a cleansing and things were quiet for a few days.  Then the activity increased.  Knocking on the walls and door was heard.  Sounds of furniture crashing down in the bedroom was heard as well.  When I would go upstairs to find out what was going on, nothing would be out of place, and the sounds would stop.  I also had the feeling that I was being watched.  I no longer felt comfortable in my own home.  I called the investigators back, and they came in and did a second investigation.  This time, whiffs of sulfur was smelled.  A candle that was burning began to melt upwards.  One investigator had a St Christopher’s medallion on, and it was tugged and turned around.  The blue orb was seen again without having to view it through a camera or video recorder.   I was so scared that I decided that I no longer wanted to stay in this house.  I was going to move out 3 months early, and pay $3000 to so I wouldn’t have to break the lease.  I eventually ended up staying until the lease was up, but I didn’t stay there often.  About 2 weeks before I was to move out, my son and I were in bed.  He no longer would sleep in his room, at this point.  It was a little after midnight, and from the left side of my bedroom, I heard a growl.  I thought to myself that it had to be from next door, that I must be hearing my neighbor tv through the wall.  Well, about 2 hours later I woke up and went downstairs to get something to drink.  I heard another growl at the opposite end of the house in the kitchen.  Now there was no way that was from my neighbor's tv.  The next night around 3am, I heard the growl again in my bedroom.  By this point, my home had been sagged daily, blessed and/or cleansed 5 times.  IT seemed to work, but after a few days, the activity became worse than before.  Finally, my son and I moved out.  4 days after we moved, my son and I were driving down the street, and I am talking on my cell to a client.  All of the sudden this weird electronic interference comes over the phone, and I can no longer hear my client.  Instead there is a malce, deep raspy voice on the other end.  It’s saying something, but I can’t make it out.  Then I hear the word YOU and I got scared and hung the phone up.  My son is in the back seat and has no idea what has occurred.  Not even 10 seconds after I hung up, my son bursts into tears and starts crying and saying “Mommy the monster's in the car. I want to get out.  It's in the car!"  I look in my rearview and see nothing.  I ask him "where?"  And he says that it's sitting in the seat.  I calm him down and tell him we're almost home, everything’s fine.  Meanwhile, I'm really freaked out.  People had warned me that whatever was in my previous house may follow us.  So when I get home, I cleanse the house with holy water and sage.  Now its 8 months later and there have been no signs of what I had experienced in my last house.  This was an experience I will never forget.

My paranormal experiences have been over the last 25 years. I will start with one of the more memorable ones I was working in an old theater in the Baltimore area when I first had contact with this? I am not sure what you would like to call it. People would tell ghost stories about this particular theater how it had been haunted. I believed that it was just teenagers telling stories nothing more. Until the day that I had first contact I was with a friend he had started to go up on the cat walks and stuck his head up through the whole to go up. He quickly jumped off the ladder and white as a sheet he ran done through the light booth past me. Once I got him calmed down I asked him what was wrong. He told me he saw two red glowing eyes at the end of the pitch dark cat walk. I said it was just a reflection and or the red battery light from an exit light. So I did what anyone who wants to prove someone wrong would do. I stuck my head up to look around and just as I thought there were two lights that were red and glowing like eyes at the end of the cat walk. When I turned on the lights I was wrong there was nothing there. That made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I played with the theory of a reflection turned on and off the stage lights in the dark and I could not prove that theory in fact I proved the opposite that it was not coming for anything. The real creepy part was that when other things started I realized that it was a part of this thing that was in the theater. The red eyes would come and go but I soon realize that while it was creepy and scairy that what ever it was would not hurt us. Just every once in awhile it would scare us. I learned to respect it and it was happy to have people respect it. Things would move, lights would come on and off, things would happen when it was dark but who ever was there protected us in time. Over a seven year period I was no longer scared I even felt like I had a friend that would watch out for us. I don't talk about it much because most people think you are making things up. However I know we were protected and that was a great feeling.

I have quite a few stories to tell, but this one comes to mind right now!
I was about Seventeen and was staying at my Aunts house. Which was my Grandparents house years before this happened. My father and his siblings grew up here! Well, actually as a child I never liked this house through my childhood years visiting faithfully every Sunday!!! Anyways...I was getting ready to go out for the night and everyone that lived there was not home. I was all alone!!!! I was in the bathroom...Just got out of the shower when I heard in the bedroom diagonal from where I was. A loud wheezing breathing sound, I went to the room that was making the noise and saw that the covers were moving up and down??? I thought that the dog or cat was under covers and couldn’t breathe, so I went over and pulled the covers off of the bed. OMG...My whole body was so cold...I could even see my breath...A mist covered the room! I ran outside and sat on the steps until someone came home. My two cousins pulled up not too long after I was sitting there. I told them what happened and they went into the room. Which was still very cold? Of course they believed me because we as children have had a lot of strange things happen to us growing up. This was just one story to tell.
Growing up I didn’t talk to my Mother or Father about what I experienced because when I did they would get mad and tell me that it was my imagination! I had to live with my fears the best way I knew how? Years later my dad and I got a little closer, we were able to talk about things more. I told him what Happened to me that night. He was not one bit surprised. He told me that my Grandfather died in that same room from Emphysema when my Dad was in his teens. This is just one story that comes to mind of many others stories that I’ve experienced. Hope you enjoyed reading it! Thanks

I live in the house my parents built. It has been here for 45 years, but it was built on a place that had a farm house dating from the 1800's, which burned down. When I was a little guy, about 8 or 9 years old, I had an experience that caused me to believe in the paranormal. I have seen many shadows, doors opening and closing, knocking on the walls, so on. One night, I had a most terrible thing happen, my bed begins to rock, shake, and bounce. Then I had a shadow raise up through the floor. I was freaked out at this point, this "shadow" said to me, I remember it well, it said "come and play with me, its fun over here." I run out of the room at a full run slipped on a rug and bashed my head on the floor hard enough to knock me out cold. Ever since then, I have had many times where I know something will happen, kind of like a 6th scents. Now when ever I pass a grave yard or cemetery, I can hear voices calling me, speaking to me, calling my name. I have done many investigations, and we have taken lots of pictures, Evp’s and documented Hauntings. I have been slapped, kicked, scratched. Laughed at, things tossed at me. I remember things from my past that never made any scents then, but they do now. I also have had some things going on as of late, I have had some pictures taken of my own basement. My wife, who is afraid of nothing, do to her past, long story not for here, anyway she said she felt like someone was watching her, she was taking random pictures, when I uploaded them to my computer, we got a Hugh surprise. In one of the photos, after I did some enhancing using Kodak Easy share software, we have found a shadow "peeking" around a wall at my wife! I have uploaded the photos onto our space page.

Most states have a "Screaming Mimi" bridge...ours is quite real. The bridge, located off of River Road near Old Fort Ohio, was documented in an HBO special by Hans Holizer some years ago and is quite active to this day.
The story goes that a young woman would ride her motorcycle home from work each morning, crossing the bridge. One night some kids strung piano wire across the bridge, and the inevitable happened...she lost her head.
Many legends persist about the bridge, honk your horn 3 times, flash your lights off and on, turn off the car and place your keys on the hood. I have been to the bridge many times over the years and found that none of these are needed, just sit there and wait.
I have seen many things at the bridge, a motorcycle swerving at the last minute followed by a blood curdling scream, laughter and crying in the woods, glowing mists in the woods, and being followed home by a single headlight you can only see in your rear view mirror. My favorite I will retell to you now.
In the late 1980's a friend and I drove out to the bridge on a night of ghost hunting, we parked the car on the bridge and waited. The bridge had just been rebuilt and opened a few days before so the railing was shiny and unspoiled by spray paint. We were watching out each side of the car and discussing whether or not the new bridge would have any effect on the haunting, when something caught my eye. There on the shiny new rail, in bright orange paint were the words "GO AWAY AND LEAVE ME ALONE" where only seconds before there had been nothing.
I have been to Screaming Mimi Bridge many times, and witnessed many things, but none sent chills down my spine like those simple words.

Last July I was waking up for the day and noticed that for once the house was quiet. My daughter (age 22) and her friend (age 20) who was visiting us from another state were still asleep. My two cats were also a sleep. It was around 8 a.m. and the sunlight was coming through the closed blinds. I was laying on my left side looking into the doorway that opens up to my office. My upper left arm was under my head and I was thinking about the schedule I had that day. Suddenly there was movement on my pillow taking place behind my head. My first thought was it had to be one of the cats. I quickly moved my right hand to behind my head in order to tickle which ever cat it was. There was nothing there. Putting my hand back down I realized that both my cats have a bell on his/her collar to warn us when they are coming. I heard no bell. I laid my head back down on my arm and after about a minute the pillow was being pulled to the opposite direction that I was looking! I closed my eyes and again the pillow was pulled about another 1/4 inch backwards. I slowly turned on my back so I could see behind me and there was nothing there. If it was one of the girls, I would have heard and seen them make their escape. Also with all the paranormal activity that goes on around here, we all have a spoken understanding that no tricks are played on each other. I turned back to be on my left side and this time I put my arm under the pillow and waited. Sure enough a short time later the pillow was being pulled and this time I could verify it because my head was moving with the pillow. This went on from me looking straight ahead into my office until my head was tilted to the point that now I was looking at the top of the door frame. I could feel movement even though each time it was slow, steady, and soft. Just when I was asking myself how long this was going to go on, the pillow was jerked and I heard my neck pop as my head was quickly pulled back with it. I threw the blanket off of me and jumped out of bed! Part of me was unnerved and the other part was plain mad! Looking at the pillow case I could see the top end was scrunched together as if two hands had gathered the material in order to ....pull the pillow! I calmly told this energy that I did not appreciate starting off my day like this and not to do again. As I straightened out the pillow case, I gave the pillow one good tap to take out my frustration and then the whistling began. That is another story. Gave up the idea of resting anymore so I went to my office, made some coffee, and began doing my favorite past time~going to paranormal web sites.  lol
