This building, built in the mid to late 1800’s and was added onto a few times throughout the years as needed. There is no central air or heat in this part off the building and outlets were minimal at best.
The story goes like this. There was construction going on in two small rooms, the center wall removed to make one large room. It was on this Friday the owner of the construction company was getting ready to leave. He had to turn off the window air conditioner and the lights before leaving for the weekend.
As he walked over, turned off the AC unit, and got to the door to leave, he noticed the AC unit had turned back on. He walked over and turned off the AC unit again and when he got back to the door to leave it turned back on again. He did this one more time and when he got back to the door the AC unit turned back on. This last time he walked over and unplugged the AC unit and as he got to the door to leave the AC unit turned back on again.
When Monday came and no one showed up finish construction, a phone call was made and the owner kindly said that he will not be back to finish because of the incident with the AC unit.
We arrived at the nursing home and set up the equipment on three floors. One camera was one the third floor, another on the second floor and one on the first floor. PHPRS only had four investigators in this large building so there was not an issue in doing EVP work and having voices hear from other investigators.
We worked in pairs (two by two) on different floors. I did four evp sessions and got one evp throughout the night. I only have one picture that I have to look at real close, though only an orb it is very interesting with its color and density. The investigation last only until midnight but was exciting to say the least.

Upon my revival I met up with BJ, Bucky, and Randy. We went inside with the client and got a run though the building. We sat up the cameras and went lights out. Me and Bucky took the third floor while BJ and Randy took the first floor. We stay in each room for about 15 mins each and I left my nightvision camcorder run in the first room that we where in. The only thing I experienced up stairs is when I was in one room and it sounded like someone walking and you can hear the fabric rubbing together for a few seconds then stopped. Then we switched me and Bucky took the first floor and Randy and BJ took the third floor. Bucky stayed in the room with the monitor and I took the room with the long table. I sat up for a evp session and asked questions I heard no noises or my pictures didn't show anything. Upon on evidence review I did get one evp while I was sitting downstairs at the long table you started to hear fire engines going by and you do hear Bucky. Right after you hear Bucky you hear a voice saying Chris thud then you hear me. But other then that I felt like this place was very comfortable and I didn't feel uneasy at all.

The building was in good shape and clean, and it seemed like a pleasant, peaceful place. In general, it didn’t seem like the stories associated with it would actually belong there. The bottom floor, was very well lit and it was not possible to turn off all the lights. The upstairs was able to go completely dark, and had a lot of side rooms that were all accessible.
I was using the digital recorder with headphones attached, and thought I heard several noises and voices while on the bottom floor. For the most part, this was inaccurate. While I do think I captured quite a few EVP, the headphones did not pre-warn me except once. I was working with BJ and at one point he left me alone for about 5 minutes. This seemed to be the most active time of the night for me personally, and I believe the number of EVP during that period was surprising, when compared to other periods. I did not capture anything with the camera except for a couple of very small orbs, which are not paranormal.
The upstairs was less productive in terms of EVP for me, and at one point, while doing an initial walk through of the area, I thought I saw a shadow pass in front of a window in one of the ante-rooms. We tried to duplicate that, but nothing could debunk what I saw. But to be perfectly honest, I am not certain if what I saw was there or the result of my own vision problems. Nothing was captured on my camera, and while there are some EVP, the area felt less active than the first floor, which was surprising to me.
Of the EVP I was able to capture, almost all of it seemed to be interactive except for one or two associated with the room where a fire took someone’s life. These two EVP sounded like residual sound – perhaps remembering the actual fire and response to it at the time. These EVP were not high quality, however.
It was a short investigation, unfortunately, but it was pleasant, and while I think the location could stand more attention than we were able to give, I do not feel there would have been anything else happening had we stayed. All in all – good investigation.

The investigation took place at a un named retirement home and do to client related restrictions no actual name will be provided by me.
In Attendance were Investigators Rob,BJ,Randy and Bucky.
We met at approximately 9:30 and we set up the DvR camera's 4e. I camera was placed in a sun room kind of activity room, another in a large meeting room over looking a long table, another on the 2nd floor hall looking down it and another was placed up stairs on the 3rd floor common area. Each investigator also had his basic kit including digital camera, digital recorder and flashlight as well as assorted emf detectors.
Meat and Potatoes of the investigation.
I started on the 3rd floor with Rob and we went to assorted area's on the 3rd floor taking pictures and attempting to obtain EVP evidence.
Next 2nd floor again with Rob, we moved around taking pictures and attempting to get EVP evidence, note hear, being that this was a retirement setting and one of a certain type we didn't attempt any actual provoking so to speak, and do to client restraint that's all Ill say. Lastly Myself and Rob investigated the 1st and final floor for us in the small sun room and large meeting area and adjoining hallways.
Conclusion and evidence collected:
I listened to my digital recorder a total of 3 ea different times and though at one point I thought I had a voice it turned out to be a fellow investigator.
I got absolutely nothing for photographs not even an Orb.
Conclusion as for evidence collected I have nothing to offer, and the saying rings true, You can't make them show themselves....
I would like to thank the client for the opportunity to investigate the location. |
